My 1st Fill!!!!!!!

Well I had my 1st fill yesterday!!!! I got there and was nervous, but then they weighed me and Ive lost 36.5lbs in 7 weeks!!!!! HOLY COW!!!! lol I was so excited and so were they!!!

So then I go and sit in a room and the nurse gets all the stuff set out[the above pic is actually what they set out lol] Then she leaves the room and tells me not to mess with the toys. So doctor Mark comes in and asks me what I have been doing to Lose all this weight!!!! I watch what I eat, I work out 5 days a week, and I don't cheat, and drink TONS of water!!!!

Then he lays me back and they find my port, then numbs it with litacane[sp??], and then takes the big needle and does the fill, he had a little bit of trouble getting it into the port but finally did, thank god I had the Litacane because he was jabbing all around. He puts in 4.5cc's and makes me drink some water then we were done! My next appointment is July 1st for the next fill. So I'm on liquids for 2 days [from yesterday], Full liquids for 2 days, then mushies for 2 days.

I don't have any after pics yet because my actual camera broke and I only have my phone but Ill get my mom to take one with her camera. I have a before and after of my face tho the 1st one with my daughter is on 04/04/09 5 days after surgery then the 2nd one is from yesterday before my doctor's appointment.

I know I need the numbing medicine...it didn't even hurt like they said it would. Im going to the beach on Sunday if its not raining but its going to be Johnsons beach because of all the festivities at Pensacola beach this weekend...not to appealing for a 3 year old...lol

I hope you don't think I'm serious about calling you a wimp. I didn't gt any numbing but it was sorta traumatic for me in that there was a lot of jabbing around inside once I was poked. There wasn't any "pain" per se but more of a discomfort. At any rate, don't want you think I'm a serious bitch or anything :D Just playing around! :) :*

Yeah how exciting! I know you dont know me but i've been follwoing your blog b/c I will be gettting banded soon!
I think i found you on the lapbandtalk.com website or from someone elses site. I'm not sure...
either way... your doing wonderfully! your neck and chin are so thin! your looking great! I'm sure that your "after" full body picture of right now looks different than the whatever you looked like before hand.

I've been gettin rather upset at how big i am right now... but i've let friends and family take pictures recently and every time i see the picture I'm shooked and i get a little down inside.
I just can't wait till they are something I'm proud to say "hey look that was the fat me" instead of "hey look it is the fat me"
Keep on going! your doing great!
Your an a great inspiration

I'm kindof surprised that doctors do numbing before their fills. The only pain or discomfort I ever have is with the little needle poke, but nothing after that hurts cause you don't have any nerve endings inside to feel pain with the needle being poked around. End result seems that they're putting you through an extra needle-poke to prevent pain you couldn't possibly get anyway.

Of course, I don't mean that to be judgmental, I swear! I'm sure the idea of numbing would (understandably!) be very comforting to some patients, but it just seems overkill for a doctor to make it _standard_ unless it was $$ related, maybe they get more back from insurance or something?

Either way though, if it works for you or makes you feel more comfortable, then all the better! :)

Cara: Thank you very much!!! I know that I am tired of living the way I was and when I got my band I knew in my mind that I was going to work as hard as I had to, to get this weight off as soon as I could.

Michelle: Thats how I was before all of this started...my mom Begged me to take that before picture so that I would have one. I hadnt taken a full body shot in like 4 years since I had my daughter. but aslong as you do what you are suppose to do to the "T" you will do great and that weight will come off in NO TIME!!!

Mari: It only felt like a 1 time poke to me because it was numb...oh well...as long as I don't feel any pain.

Oh yeah, I guess you're right about the "one-poke" feeling, duh! I'm a tard sometimes! :)
